Thiophosphoryl dichloride Surface Group
These dendrimers can readily be functionalized by nucleophilic attack on the phosphoryl surface group. The advancement of the functionalization process can easily be monitored by simple 31P NMR spectroscopy; displacement of the chlorine atom induces tractable changes in the chemical shift of the phosphorus nuclei.
